The common ornamental deciduous tree, Callery pear, originates from Asia. In early spring it covers itself with profuse clusters of cup-shaped white flowers. Unlike other cultivars of Callery pear, 'Sylvania' (Trinity) begins flowering as a very young tree. When mature, this vigorous, upright tree develops a rounded crown. Its leaves are shiny, and consistently turn red to red-purple in fall. Eve better, it has few fruits and no thorns.
