Plant Type: Fruit Trees
This tree is cold-hardy, small in size, and usually bears alternate years. Fruit is red, large, and has somewhat rough skin. Careful early training, annual pruning and shaping are required to insure healthy and productive trees. Some varieties can set fruit by self-pollination while others require cross pollination. Apple trees are susceptible to a variety of pests and diseases but are very rewarding when properly cared for.
