Plant Type: Hostas

This 1998 cross of Hosta ‘Venusta’ x Hosta ‘Dorset Blue’ resulted in one of our all-time favorite selections that we christened H. ‘Gemstone’. Hosta ‘Gemstone’ makes a vigorous-growing, but a small wide clump of narrow blue leaves. In midsummer, the clumps are topped with short 10″ spikes of elegant lavender flowers. If you like small valuable hostas, add a ‘Gemstone’ to your garden.
