‘Plantaginea’ has the best flowers and are more than twice as large as those of others. With a pure white color, the also have heavy substance and a waxy surface. It is the only night-bloomer with the flowers opening late in the afternoon, their fragrance is most noticeable during evening hours.

A large, robustly-growing hosta, with heart-shaped, apple-green leaves. Easter-lily-sized white trumpets appear in August on scapes up to 24 inches tall. Flowers have a scent heavily reminiscent of said lilies. Makes a weed-suppressing ground cover when planted en masse. Enjoys evenly-moist soil enriched with organic matter.
