City Lights Hosta


Hosta 'City Lights' is known for its excellent bright yellow color, thick leaves and large mound size. It is a fairly good grower that holds up well through the season. This hosta has rounded leaves are slightly cupped, thick and heavily corrugated, chartreuse changing to bright yellow as the season progresses, coloring best in some bright light. The thick corrugated and deeply veined leaves emerge green in spring, and quickly brighten to a brilliant yellow-gold that holds for the remainder of the season. Each of the truly regal 3' wide clumps are topped in late spring with short scapes of near white flowers. Leaf Size: 12" x 9". Blooms: Pale lavender to near white flowers bloom in early to midsummer. Light: Light sun to full shade. Soil: Humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil.
