Western Sandstone Daylily

Plant Type: Daylily

Aptly named, this unique daylily produces 5.5-6" flowers with the color and visual texture of western sandstone. They are a blend of tan, peach, and pale yellow tones with a brighter yellow halo above the green throat; very distinctive and elegant in the landscape. Tall, well branched and very heavily budded scapes carry the beautifully ruffled, glimmering diamond dusted blossoms well above the foliage in midsummer. Dormant tetraploid. Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).
