Plant Type: Grasses

The gray-green leaves have an upright arching form and are around 5 feet tall. Dynamic flower spikes reach heights of 8 to 12 feet in the late summer. These spikes are topped by silvery flower panicles with purple undertones that turn white in the fall. These plumes are frequently used in dried and fresh flower bouquets.  Raven grass has an equally stunning fall color as its fluffy plumes. There is a blending of several colors, including orange, tan, purple, and beige.

Growing & Maintenance Tips:

It performs best in a sunny site in moist, well-drained soils. Wet sites shorten its life considerably and leads to extensive winter injury. Division can be done in early spring to control its growth or make new plants.
